Financial Aid for Graduate Students
Several sources of financial aid are available. Entering students are eligible for departmental nomination for Woodburn Fellowships, which are four-year fellowships, or Presidential and Diversity Fellowships, which are one-year fellowships and are renewable.
The department awards teaching and research assistantships as well. Both teaching and research assistantships entail a workload not to exceed twenty hours per week. Normally, students assist in assembling bibliographies, grading, proctoring examinations, conducting laboratory and discussion sessions, maintaining departmental laboratory facilities, and assisting faculty in teaching and research.
Information about other options regarding financial assistance such as work study, student loans, etc. is available from the Student Response Center: src@buffalo.edu
