round, and conveniently located in the vicinity
of Huangshan (Yellow Mountain), the Huangshan Monkey Valley attracts numerous
tourists each year. Since the Huangshan Monkey Valley Center opened in
1989, a series of Chinese and overseas researchers have been doing studies
on the behavior and ecology of the Tibetan macaques (Macaca thibetana).
In these pages you will find some basic information
about these monkeys, gathered over the years by researchers and
caretakers. Although these monkeys can also be viewed at Emei Shan and
Jiuhua Shan (other famous tourist attractions), the Huangshan Monkey Valley
is the only place in China where tourism is especially organized for observing
them in the wild. To insure the safety and well being of both tourists
and monkeys there are a few essential rules.
Please, read and follow them. We wish you a safe trip on your way to HuangShan Monkey Valley! The Management |
